The Hello Kitty Dream
Scarlett is still in out bedroom - either in her crib a foot away from the bed, or in our bed.
We are eager to convert her crib to a full-sized bed and at least move her to another corner of the room.
We were at Babies R' Us and came across this adorable Hello Kitty bedroom set!! We love Hello Kitty!!
We won't be getting it, as her crib converts to a really nice looking bed. And at some point, she'd outgrow the Hello Kitty look. So getting this set isn't practical, but it sure is fun ... and she loved it!

A Seriously Proud Mommy Moment
Christian and Scarlett fight - a lot. But there moments like this when I see they really do love each other. Here, Christian (6.5) helps Scarlett (2.5) put on her shoes. I did not ask him to do it - he took the initiative and sat her down to help her.

Sick again ....
This lil' Princess is sick again ... more throwing up. But no fever.
Took her to the doctor because she was throwing up over three days. Wasn't her usual doctor, and he wasn't as thorough as her pediatrician. He had no solutions. Waste of a $30 copay.
With both kids in school, we've got double the school germs coming into the house. Great fun. :(

Scarlett's First Day of School
Today Scarlett had her first official day of preschool at The Goddard School. She has been there before, on the rare occasion when I needed somebody to watch her for the morning.
She was excited on the drive, excited as we got to school. But all the kids were playing outside when we arrived, and that is different from her other times there. Usually everybody is in the classroom when we arrived. So that change really upset Scarlett and she cried and cried when I said I would be leaving. It was very sad. :(
But as with Christian at this age, I knew Scarlett would be find after a few minutes once I left. So I left ... and all was well.

A Little Better
For the most part, Scarlett was great today. As the evening got later, she became fussy and her temp rose a bit. And then came the hysterics about the oral antibiotics ... ugh. We have 10 days of that fun :(

Scarlett has Strep Throat
How's this for a sad picture?
Our sweet girl has strep throat for the first time. It all started four nights ago, when she felt really warm at her middle of the night waking. The next day, she fell asleep on the floor in the late morning - and that never happens.
Then she'd get really hot and lethargic and just lay on the couch. Then I'd giver her Tylenol and sometimes it worked better than others. Sometimes she was back to her usual energetic self for a few hours.
But after four days of a very persistent fever with no other symptoms, it was time to get her to the doctor. He doubted she had strep, but ran the test anyway ... and it came back positive.
Our poor girl misses her Papa, who is traveling for work, and asks for him regularly. But he will be home shortly.
Until then, we are hoping Christian doesn't get sick ... hoping Mommy doesn't get sick. But, I am close proximity to her all the time, and give her plenty of kisses - even when she's sick. A Mommy's love isn't hindered by germs - even the really contagious variety. :)
If you feel so inclined, please say a lil' prayer for our family, that the rest of us would remain healthy.
Thank you! :)

Headed to Preschool!
The time has come! Scarlett is headed to preschool next month for two mornings a week. We just registered her tonight!
She will be going to the same school Christian attended ... and will start off in the same room he started in ( though the teacher is different now).
Scarlett is ready for this big change, and we are excited for her!

And then this happened ...
Ah Scarlett ... you never know what she's up to.
Tonight she was diaper-less for a bit too long, as evidenced by these little poopletts she left behind.
There is a first time for everything ...

Little Miss Precious
Miss Scarlett (29 months old today) is so feisty much of the time that I truly adore moments like this ... when she has fallen asleep snuggled up to Mommy. ♡She is just so very precious.♡

A Two Year Old Duo
We went to a birthday party for our friend Sadie. She just turned 2 and I'd so big, she is wearing size 4T clothing. I think her mom said she is 35+ pounds.
Compare to Scarlett who is barely 20 lbs. And STILL fits into a few of her 12 month clothing.
Crazy!!

Christian's Kindergarten Awards Ceremony
Today we attended Christian's Kindergarten Awards Ceremony. For some reason, his school doesn't do a Kindergarten Graduation like most other schools do.
And that is okay, because ... just before this ceremony, Jonathan and I met with his teacher and the various therapists who have worked with Christian since January. It occurred to us a couple of weeks ago that Christian wasn't really ready for first grade. While his reading is well-above grade level, he is behind his peers in many other areas.
I spoke with several people before making this decision, and all agreed it was a good idea. In fact, friends I know who are teachers praised our decision noting many times, parents aren't willing to hold a child back.
In fact, we have a unique opportunity: kindergarten at this school is half day, with the option for "after care" for kiddos who need to be at school for a full day (for example, if both parents work). We were offered - and eagerly accepted - a full day of school for Christian in the next school year - half his day the classroom setting, half his day in a structured "after care" environment. And then he would get his various therapies during the after care portion of his day, rather than interrupting his classroom time (which he was starting to decline when a therapist would show up).
So we are good with the decision and are really exited to see how he progresses next year, with more maturity and familiarity with all he will be presented with throughout the year.
And besides, kindergarten is FUN! Who wouldn't want two years of kindergarten, right? Right!
Christian got the "Sweet Tart Award" from his teacher, because his is just so very sweet to everybody. We are so proud of him!
