Bella's ... Um ... Scarlett's Bed

Ah, our Miss Scarlett. Always more interested in things that aren't hers, than things that ARE hers.

Today's coveted item is Bella's bed. :)

Baby It's Cold Outside

Brrr ... sure was cold this morning.  Scarlett isn't a fan of wearing hats or headbands, but let me put this hat on her today.  You can't tell from the photo, but its a cute Hello Kitty hat - because Miss Scarlett LOVES Hello Kitty (just like her Mommy!).

The Princess and the Papa

Scarlett doesn't like to sleep much ... unless she's laying with her Papa!  Too bad Papa has to work and can't take her daily naps with her.

Scarlett and Bella's Water Dish

On of Scarlett's biggest obsessions is Bella's water dish.   We recently got a larger water dish, so at least Scarlett can't tip this one over.

Miss Scarlett is 11 Months Old!

Our Miss Scarlett is now 11 months old ... I can hardly believe it!

Scarlett's eating has gotten a bit better.  We usually offer her a bit of what we're eating, and she'll taste everything (unlike her brother) She'll eat a little bit of:
  • Shredded cheese
  • crackers
  • yogurt
  • toast
  • tortilla
  • Vienna sausage
  • mashed potatoes
  • pumpkin pie
She has little-to-no interesting in baby food, so I've stopped buying it and wasting money.  And she still prefers salty/savory foods to sweet foods.

And she's only good in her high chair for a few minutes.  As soon as she starts to lose interest in her food, she starts to turn around to get out ... and if we don't get her out, the drama begins.   Whoooo ... drama.  Drama.  Drama.

She loves to say "Papa."  Sometimes she prounounces it "Pa-paw" (as if she's French).  When a door or window opens in our house, the security system gives a "ding."   Whenever it dings (and it occasionally gives a random ding), Scarlett says, "Papa!" and looks towards the front door, waiting for Jonathan to arrive.  It is so cute!

Scarlett's latest method of communication is to SCREECH.  Loudly.  Really loudly. She is not shy about letting us know when she is displeased.  Ever.

She loves to crawl into her brother's bedroom to get him.  She's an early riser, and even if it is still dark, she'll crawl out of our bedroom and make a beeline for Christian's room (which is across the living room) ... in the dark.   Well, I guess the good thing is she isn't afraid of the dark!

And for the past few weeks, she's become scared of swimming lessons.  She clings to me for dear life, as if she's never been in the pool ... and yet, we've been doing lessons since July.   And she gets very upset during swimming lessons, too.  She's ususally relazed about 3/4 through the lessons ... but that first 3/4 is tough.

Scarlett also gets a thrill out of turning off our DirecTV receiver (which I clearly need to move out of her reach).   It really frustrates Christian becuase she ends up turning off what he's watching.  So I often get this panicked five year old voice, "MOMMY!!  Scarlett is going to turn the TV off.  Can you come get her!??!!"
